    greenwire:

(general disclaimer: I did not know or follow rk when she was on tumblr.) I was here when she was deactivated, so I have a receipts post about people celebrating her leaving but it’s lost to the vast number of posts on my blog. The basics are that RK is a talented young artist and was on tumblr through 2017 or 18. She was driven off tumblr.

There’s a rumor some tumblr user threatened to report her to the Russian government. She is Russian and a lesbian, and it would have put her at risk had they done so. I haven’t seen any direct evidence that anyone did this, but I believe the threats were made. But what I have seen are people celebrating her deactivation, as well as people outright stating that had this young woman been reported to her own government for her sexual orientation, that she would have deserved it. Her harassment continued even after she left tumblr.

Her supposed crime, one that would have justified her life? Drawing this image (screenshot from twitter):

The pearl clutching following this post was immense in TRA circles. The justification was, that no matter whether the material is satirical or not, depicting violence against vulnerable people is never acceptable. And that boiling people in a cauldron is depicting violence against them. I’d like to compare and contrast with another image from that most recent post now:

This actually depicts RK. She has red hair and these are her features. So, my question is to the many people sending her threats and successfully hounding her off social media is, are words and images violence or not? Is it always unacceptable to depict violence, no matter how satirical, against vulnerable people or not? Do you have a right to choose who interacts with you in public or not?

From where I stand, the modern TRA movement is a lot of “Rules for thee, not for me.” In my opinion, the entire movement is populated by people, mostly men, with narcissistic traits.

tbh idc that president snow is one of the most heinous, disgusting, evil characters ever written in all of fiction, the quote “we both know I’m not above killing children” is the HARDEST literary quote of all time

When Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes first came out I was really worried it would make Snow too sympathetic & try to “excuse” what he did, but honestly it made him worse.

My boy Coriolanus really was a whole entire douchecanoe, huh?

Man hears a beautiful song that has the Capitol and a whole fuckton of snakes mesmerized, and his first thought is about how backwards the Districts are because the song mentions the hereafter.

Then he hears another song explaining the origin of his girlfriend’s name and he’s just sitting there silently judging it cuz it talks about ghosts and those aren’t real.

Like bro just shut the fuck up and enjoy the music.

Lmao imagine being president snow and hearing the song the rebels are using as their chant is the song your ex girlfriend created about the execution you both saw and how her ex boyfriend (who you were already insanely jealous of) begged her to run away with him

Like he already hated it then, imagine how much he hates it now, like what a (unknown from the rebels) slap in the face it is, his ex haunting him still from the grave
